A low-performing school in Washington, D.C., struggled with test scores and student engagement, until the introduction of music and arts changed everything. Kerry Washington, writing for the Huffington Post, suggests that bringing arts and music into education will ultimately save schools.
"For the last decade, we have been engaged in a national conversation about how to fix our failing schools," Washington said. "The arts should be a part of the equation in every school."
