In Hermann, MO, high school senior Zack Ruediger was overwhelmed by how classmates came together to support him in a time of need.
"A blood clot broke loose and took him from the family," said Ruediger, explaining the sudden death of his father just days before the graduation ceremony. Ruediger also lost his mother in 2012, Fox2now.com reported.
As the 68 students of the 2014 graduating class received their diplomas, they handed their principal money, said Fox2now.com. Ruediger did the same, realizing only later that the money would be given to him and his family following the ceremony.
"That's just like Zack," said senior Jamie Gleeson. "He's really sweet and nice."
