Joaquin Del Core said a bully targeted him at school all year, beating him up weekly and threatening to kill him. The fourth-grader's parents have filed a lawsuit on their son's behalf seeking $50,000 from the bully, the bully's parents and the school.
The NY Daily News reported that according to the lawsuit, the bully persistently targeted Joaquin throughout the 2013-14 school year at Robert Frost Elementary School in Mount Prospect, a Chicago suburb.
Mount Prospect Police said Joaquin's mom filed four police reports about bullying attacks between March and June. Each of those cases was deferred to the school.
"The school said they were taking action and assured us it wouldn't happen again, and it would just keep happening," Joaquin's father told the Daily News.
