If your school hasn’t yet gotten on board with or even thought much about the learning opportunities that are made possible through virtual reality technology, this school year might be the year that all of that changes.
zSpace, a Silicon Valley education company that has created an all-in-one screen virtual reality desktop, is partnering with Google Expeditions this upcoming school year to create "an end-to-end virtual reality experience” for America’s classrooms.
According to zSpace, beginning on August 15, representatives of the company will be "traveling to schools and school districts to demonstrate the latest in VR-based learning experiences for science, technology, engineering, art and math curriculums in its Virtual Reality Mobile Classroom.”
zSpace is unique to other virtual reality options because its technology includes the world’s only virtual reality stylus, "allowing students to interact with virtual objects and really understand the science behind them.” This is particularly helpful for teaching students in subjects like math and science; clips of students on the company’s website using the stylus to explore the human body while learning human anatomy or Euclid’s shapes while learning math are a must-see.
This week, zSpace announced that over 400 U.S. school districts have already adopted its VR technology.
“zSpace created the technology and the content, but it’s the teachers and students who have found amazing ways to use it to learn and discover, whether they’re solving physics problems, studying cells or creating 3D models. They’re on the forefront of discovering how virtual reality can be used to enhance our daily lives,” said Paul Kellenberger, zSpace CEO in a prepared statement.
By collaborating with Google this back-to-school season, zSpace hopes to bring even more virtual reality content to America’s K-12 schools, which is why you can expect virtual reality to be going back-to-school in full force.
