At a recent conference at North Carolina State University, state representatives looked at teacher compensation and Common Core State Standards. Tom Murry, state representative, said teacher compensation isn't a new issue and described challenges his mother faced during a 30-year career in education.
"I'm glad we're having the conversation, but it's not a new issue. We will reward teachers this year with compensation increases," he said, according to WRAL.com.
