ASCD has compiled a list of free professional resources for teachers and is offering discounted individual memberships in honor of Teacher Appreciation Week.
The Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD) is a non-profit organization dedicated to teaching, learning, and leading since 1943.
“On behalf of everyone at ASCD, I want to convey the depth of our appreciation for teachers worldwide and extend our sincerest gratitude for all you do for students," said ASCD executive director, Judy Setlz, according to eSchoolNews.com.
"Because of your ceaseless efforts to find new and better ways to engage, support, and develop each student in your class, our children are sure to accomplish far greater things than we can presently imagine," she said.
One example of the compiled resources include the ASCD Sourcebook, a free catalog for educators on teaching and leading. "The sourcebook features infographics as well as stories from authors, feedback from educators, and strategies that can immediately be put into practice," the article said.
Additionally, ASCD compiled a series of webinars that provide on-going learning for educators where experts discuss hot topics like Common Core Standards, up-to-date learning strategies, and closing achievement gaps. According to the source, "[e]ach webinar is archived, so teachers never have to miss a topic and can access the large catalog of past webinars at their convenience."
To supplement these free compiled resources, ASCD is also offering discounted individual memberships throughout Teacher Appreciation Week. From May 4 through May 8, "ASCD is offering a 50 percent discount on all individual ASCD membership categories for new members."
