What is Sold: Candy. See’s is well known for its fine chocolates.
About the Program: The program is open to schools, churches, youth groups and organizations with registered 501(c)(3) (nonprofit) status. Five fundraising options include a candy bar program, a spring program and a gift certificate program. Setup is simple: schools choose an option, students sell and collect the money (unless a principal applies for credit for the fundraiser) and then the school’s fundraising coordinator places the order. The order arrives in 7-10 days, or schools can pick it up if they are near a See’s location. The company suggests, however, that candy bar programs work best when products are in hand at the time of sale.
Support Available for Schools: See’s free marketing materials can be ordered from its fundraising Web site. Customer service staff also can help with planning.
Bottom Line: See’s Candies are a favorite among foodies. If your school has a lot of food-loving parents, they will gladly order from this catalog. The program is perfect for the school that wants a basic fundraiser and doesn’t need a lot of support from the company to pull it together.
