My grades can be misleading.
They don't reveal all I know
About what's real important.
So, let me show you so...
I know that peanut butter
Tastes really fine on cheese,
And milk squirts out your nose
If you're drinking when you sneeze.
I know that one of my shoelaces
Is most always left untied,
And I'll never have clean gym clothes
No matter how hard I try.
I know my pencils need sharpening,
And that erasers leave a smudge.
I know how to cut in lunch line,
And jammed lockers never budge.
I know I left my coat at school,
And now it's gone for good.
I know most desks are made of plastic,
Though they used to be of wood.
You'd think I'd almost get straight A's
With all that I could show,
But my teachers never check to see,
So I'll guess we'll never know.
