10 Good Arguments

(Continued from EdWorld At Home)

9. Advocate

To advocate for a solution or policy is a strong motive for many valid arguments. When making a advocacy argument, remember that the thing you’re supporting needs to be specific and supported by reliable facts and valid analysis.

It is often very persuasive to acknowledge any valid objections. For example, if you were to write an essay advocating the hydrogen fuel-cell car as the solution to automobile pollution, you should admit there are significant challenges in making hydrogen fuel-cell cars work on a large scale, even though ultimately you are supporting them.
