Description:
The University of Wisconsin-River Falls invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of English, with specialty in composition and rhetoric, beginning August, 2001, to teach introductory and advanced college writing courses, composition theory, and other courses in the candidate's field of expertise. The candidate should also be qualified serve as Freshman English Coordinator at some future point, a responsibility that carries a three-credit release per term. This is a full-time, tenure track position. Compensation is based on qualifications, including education and experience. The normal teaching load is twelve credits. Faculty at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls are expected to demonstrate effective teaching and advising, conduct scholarly research, use appropriate instructional technology, and serve the English Department and university community.
Qualifications
Qualifications (Required): Ph.D. in English with specialty in rhetoric, composition, or composition theory, completed by the date of application. Experience in area of expertise: Several years' experience teaching college-level composition courses. Demonstrated awareness of and sensitivity to diverse student populations and ability to contribute to the University's commitment to enhancing student awareness and appreciation of diverse ethnic and cultural heritages.
