ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF FINANCE & BUSINESS OPERATIONS
.Responsible for budgeting activities, including budget development and long-range financial planning.

.Assists Director of Finance & Business Operations in recommending the selection of all benefit carriers, negotiation of premiums and services and evaluation of most effective method of providing each benefit.
.Responsible for Fiscal Program Management of the countywide ASAP-PIE, early intervention program.
Assists Director of Finance & Business Operations in coordinating District purchasing activities.
.Develops, trains and supervises payroll and finance staff.
.Responsible for preparation of special reports and studies and execution of projects assigned by the Director of Finance & Business Operations.
.Assists Director of Finance & Business Operations in recommending the selection of carrier or method of providing all District property and liability insurance, including negotiation of premiums and evaluating the level of coverage and most cost-effective programs.
.Performs other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Finance & Business Operations.
.Responsible for maintaining a cash management system for the district; including cash flow projection, investing, billing, and receivables management.
.Responsible for preparation of all annual and interim reports required by the Michigan Department of Education.
SALARY AND CONTRACT PROVISIONS
The saginaw Intermediate School District Board of Education will provide a competitive compensation package with the salary range of $65,000 to $69,500, based on 262 workdays per school year. Fringe benefits include health, dental, vision, life, long term disability insurance, professional development opportunities, along with 25 vacation days, 15 sick days, and 6 personal days per school year. a two-year contract with provisions for annual review and evaluation will be offered. Actual salary will be commensurate with the education and experience of the candidate.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
.Bachelors Degree in Accounting.
.Candidates with degrees in school administration and experience in a similar position will be given consideration. MBA or CPA certification preferred.
.Broad experience in an accounting or finance department of a school district, governmental agency or business.
.Familiarity with the Michigan School Accounting Manual and comprehensive understanding of Michigan laws, rules and guidelines governing school finance.
.Ability to plan, direct and evaluate the work of others. Prior supervisory experience preferred.
.Ability to effectively work with staff, students, parents and members of the community and people from diverse backgrounds.
.Experience working with integrated computer systems.
.Ability to work in a decision-making system that utilizes teams and collaborative processes. Previous experience desirable. |
