The cry has been heard this year from schools across the nation, "My
school has been wired for the Internet - but now what to I do?"
Many schools provide training sessions for teachers, teaching them how
to navigate the Internet. But once you're familiar with it, how do you
actually integrate this new resource into the classroom?
In response to this question, Education World teamed up with O'Reilly
Publishing, Inc. to publish a 30-page booklet entitled, Net Lessons:
Education World's Internet Primer. This booklet, free to educators,
featured ideas on how to integrate the Internet into the classroom, as
well as hands-on lesson plans to get teachers started.
The booklet was released in August, 1997. The word about Net
Lessons spread across the Internet and through print magazines and
newspapers. Within 30 days, Education World had received more than
5,000 requests from educators around the world for copies of the Net
Lessons booklet.
