REVIEW:
The Amazon Adventure was set up so that students (and their teachers and parents) in New Zealand schools could follow the author on a journey along the Amazon River system in Brazil and Peru. The aims of the project were to teach students about other cultures, to help them understand the importance of protecting the environment and to practice reading and comprehension skills. The Web site has background information about Amaznia -- the locations, the people and the animals. Teachers can also find activities based on the adventure for students to develop math, geography and science skills. The project was aimed at students aged 5 to 15 years so this Web site could be used in many different ways, for a lot of different subjects.
