REVIEW:
This Web site provides a place for materials developed for the Creative Partnerships for Prevention initiative. The information here came from educators, prevention specialists, youth workers, and professionals from cultural institutions. An online version of "Creative Partnerships for Prevention: Using the Arts and Humanities to Build Resiliency in Youth Resource Guide" will be available shortly; users can currently access demonstration sites. These frequently updated areas allow viewers to track the progress of eight different programs throughout the country that are trying to use the concepts of arts-and-humanities-based prevention as well as community partnerships. Each month the site adds profiles of new programs. Another section allows users to access the "Prevention Think Tank Searchable Forum and Program Builder Form for help with developing programs. Additional resources are available. This is a good site for guidance professionals, parents and educators who are looking for alternative and new approaches to drug and violence prevention.
