REVIEW:
This is a fairly new site that was developed in celebration of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF)'s 50th anniversary. The site was created to give children a place to communicate with others around the world. It houses three forums. The first is the Meeting Place, where users can read ideas on current global issues that affect children and share their thoughts. The Learning Place has a number of interactive learning projects implemented by volunteers. Schools and groups from around the world will work together on the projects. The Teacher's Place allows educators and workers in development agencies to exchange ideas and discuss the use of interactive activities and technology. This is an excellent place for teachers to create Internet-based lesson plans for social studies, political science, current events and cultural studies classes. It is also a great place for students to check out on their own, or for education technology directors.
