REVIEW:
Historically, having a disability meant not being able to fully participate in mainstream society. Today, however, technology is helping the disabled community overcome many barriers. Voice recognition software is one form of technology that is helping to open up the world for individuals with disabilities. This technology, however, requires a high level of training to adequately implement its use. The Speaking to Write website is a great resource for anyone learning to use voice recognition software. The site offers information on several different types of voice recognition software packages and adds updates as new software or updated versions of current software are released. Users can also participate in a discussion list where questions can be asked and answered.
