The Official String Theory Web Site

The Official String Theory Web Site is about theoretical particle physics. The site takes a difficult subject and explains it layman's terms. It includes string theory applications in cosmology and black holes.

The site uses images, animations, and tables to illustrate the text. Some nice informal fonts help make the subject less imposing.

The site is set in frames and has a navigational bar on the left.

The Official String Theory Website makes the work of Newton, Einstein, and Hawking seem relatively easy. The language is relaxed and simple, with a sense of humor. Teachers will still want to define some of the more important terms, such as entropy and inflation. Included in the site are several real Audio recordings of famous physicists. For those who want to delve deeper into the subject a great set of links is provided. Teachers of astronomy will also find this site useful.
