Carol Hurst's Children's Literature Site

This site has a collection of reviews of children's literature, ideas for using books in the classroom, and subject-specific activities.

The site has a gray background and a similar layout on each page. Most of the information is displayed in outline form.

Each section of the site is listed on the home page outline. Each page has the same navigational menu, which allows users to reach each of the sections.

Carol Otis Hurst is a "nationally-known storyteller, lecturer, author and language arts consultant." She has been an elementary school teacher, librarian and author. She also conducted teacher workshops in children's literature, language arts, and storytelling for Teaching K-8 Magazine. The site is based on her philosophy of using literature in the curriculum. Users will find children's book titles, activities, and links to areas of this site and other related sites on the Internet for each curriculum area. The site also has a professional resources section. Teachers of all subjects and grades will find the information here useful.
