Africana.com is a site for teachers and parents that promotes a better understanding of black culture and history.

AESTHETICS:
This site is mostly text with very few graphics.

ORGANIZATION:
Finding the information you want may be a bit of a challenge but worth the time you will spend here. There is a search tool on site for keyword searches.

REVIEW:
Africana.com provides users with information on books, music, art, and jobs. Users can join chats and forums to discuss issues of particular interest to black people. Articles and news stories that enrich the black experience are featured. Of interest to teachers and students is the Africana Blackboard. This section provides lesson plans in all curricular areas. Lessons include the Civil War: Dred Scott and the Geography of Sectionalism, the Underground Railroad, and Famous African American Artists: Romare Bearden. Book reviews, daily news, and a listing of radio stations are just a few of the many features of this site.
