GRADE LEVEL: 9-12, Advanced

This site is a historical account of the voyages of exploration to the North American Continent based on the Rare Book Collection of the National Library of Canada.

The site uses a lot of white space and an outline format to present the information. The layout is easy to read.

The information is presented in an alphabetical or chronological outline. The site is also searchable.

Passages, also available in French, was prepared by the National Library of Canada. Users can tour the resources by explorers' names or in chronological order. Both options allow the user to peruse summaries that include related material and illustrations and pages that were scanned from the rare books. This site is equally interesting to students studying the exploration of North America and history buffs who want a closer look at this subject.
