REVIEW:
Great Sites for Kids has been around for a while and just keeps getting better. It is continually being maintained and updated by the ALSCs Great Web Sites for Kids Committee. Each site is put through a rigorous evaluation before being added to the directory. Sites are judged on such criteria as authorship, purpose, design and stability, and content. Sites are organized by subject categories including animals, literature and languages, mathematics and computers, the arts, history and biography, sciences, social sciences, and the reference desk. All the listed sites are appropriate for children up to age fourteen. A special section lists sites that are of interest to parents, teachers, and caregivers.
