CONTENT:
ActionBioscience.org is an educational Web site created to promote bioscience literacy by providing the public with information and resources about the biological sciences.
SITE DESIGN:
The site content is divided into several major categories listed on the main page. There is a left side menu as well as a navigation menu at the bottom of the page. Feature articles are also clearly marked. The site is also available in Spanish.
 

REVIEW:
Educators, students, science professionals, and the general public will all find something of interest at ActionBioScience. The site provides a wealth of articles by scientists, science educators, and students about issues that are related to the several bioscience topics, including environment, biodiversity, genomics, biotechnology, evolution, and new frontiers in science. All articles are peer reviewed before publication. The lessons directory includes original lessons written and reviewed by science educators for middle, high school, and undergraduate students. These lessons accompany articles on the site and include questions relating to the article, as well as a variety of activities for the classroom. Additionally, lessons are grouped according to the bioscience topics, and teachers can access the National Science Education Standards chart to find lessons that address particular curricular needs.
