REVIEW:
Bring a polar research experience into your classroom in a rich, engaging, and innovative way. A team of scientists from the Virginia Institute of Marine Science (VIMS) have researched the effects of Persistent Organic Pollutants on the food web of Antarctica, and students can follow along via journal entries and informative articles. The site includes short biographies and interviews with the team, background information, pictures and information about the locations, and a glossary. Reading, writing, and math lessons with special notes for teachers are provided in the Learning Activities section.
