GRADE LEVEL: 3-8

http://www.everestquest.com

CONTENT:
This educational Internet adventure follows the attempt of double amputee Ed Hommer and the expedition team to climb to the summit of Mount Everest.
AESTHETICS:
The site uses a consistent layout and nice graphics to make it user friendly and attractive.
ORGANIZATION:
A navigation bar at the top and an index bar at the bottom of each page for the whole site and individual sections make navigating easy.
REVIEW:
Although the expedition had to turn back before reaching Mt. Everest's summit, this online adventure continues to be valuable. Teachers will find lessons in reading, math, science, and social studies; background information; team biographies; journals; photos; and maps. The standards-based lesson plans include work sheets, resource links, and assessment guides. Climber Ed Hommer, a double amputee, will inspire students who face physical disabilities themselves. Best of all, this adventure is free!
