What does it promise? Earth-Now is one of the many applications that NASA’s Jet Propulsion Labs that allow students to explore the Earth in detail. It promises an in-depth and detailed 3D view of the Earth as well as exploration tools that highlight the planet’s vital signs with ease.

“NASA's Earth Now is an application that visualizes recent global climate data from Earth Science satellites, including surface air temperature, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, ozone, and water vapor as well as gravity and sea level variations. Data sets are visually described using "false color" maps. Color-coded legends are provided to indicate relative strength or weakness of an environmental condition.” – iTunes

Does it deliver? Yes. This app is essentially one of the easiest to navigate and educational apps in terms of the exploration of the Earth. As iTunes stated in its summary of the application the amount of information that is presented by the colorful, 3D and interactive visual is extensive. It is a great STEM geared app and is incredibly simple to use. There is no signing up for a user name, no ads, just exploratory sections meant to teach students about their planet.

Can I use it in the classroom? Yes. This app can be projected so both the teacher and students can learn the current vital signs of the Earth. It’s three dimensionality makes it perfect for exploring your area or other areas around the world and keys are perfectly easy to read. This is a remarkable app that has a lot of educational benefits.
