What does it promise? The Countries of the World Quiz promises a simple way for students from the ages of four and up to learn the countries of the world. It promises an easily accessible platform with countries in every continent of the world. It promises to be an aid to geography professors as a way to assess their student’s knowledge of the countries of the world.

Does it deliver? Countries of the world does deliver as a mode of preparing for real assessments in the classroom, however, there are some issues with the app being too simple. The overall database of countries it contains is marvelous but can also be hard when it comes to honing in on countries in specific continents. It only offers one type of quiz rather than a quiz for each continent. This also becomes troublesome when countries get to be a little repetitive while taking the quiz. The cycle of countries seems a little too repetitive, which can help students remember just a handful of countries with so many more to explore.

Can I use it in the classroom? Yes this app can be used in the classroom but more as an activity for the whole class. If the educator has a projector so that they can have the app in plain sight of their students it would be a potential game for the class to play. Splitting the class into teams would be recommended as the teacher goes through the quiz giving each team one chance to answer the question. The team that has the most questions answered correctly wins. It’s a great study activity especially if students have an exam coming up.
