At Circle Time explain to children how important corn was to the Pilgrims when they came to the new land. Children can understand that corn was used in a variety of ways and was a staple of the Pilgrims' diets. Encourage children to think of ways we eat corn today. Then plan a "Corn Week." On one day prepare corn bread (use the easy mix). On another day let children shuck corn for you to boil; they will love eating corn on the cob. Other days might include making and eating popcorn, corn cakes, or serving candy corn (for fun).
