Read to children Shirley Neitzel's The Jacket I Wear in the Snow. Compare and contrast cold-weather clothing and warm-weather clothing. Ask What type of clothing do you like best to wear? Invite children to tell why they prefer that clothing. Then challenge them to go through old magazines and catalogs to find and cut out pictures of clothing you would wear in cold weather. Let groups of children create cold-weather clothing collages.
