Read to children The Jacket I Wear in the Snow by Shirley Neitzel (Harper Trophy). Extend your reading by talking about the kinds of clothing worn in winter weather. Then fill your Dramatic Play area with winter clothing for children and dolls. Display pictures of people and dolls in winter apparel. Finally, invite children to find pictures of winter clothing in magazines. Use those pictures to create a class mural.
