Continuing its mission to serve as a catalyst to position 21st century readiness at the center of US K-12 education, The Partnership for 21st Century Skills (P21) is releasing a new teacher resource focusing on aligning math curriculums with current standards.
Educators can now review the 21st Century Skills Math Map for free at the P21 Web site: www.P21.org.
The map was designed in collaboration with the nation’s leading math educators, and with the support of the Mathematical Association of America and the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics. Its release coincides with Mathematics Awareness Month.
"Educators across the country are already working on integrating the P21 Framework alongside Common Core State Standards (CCSS),” said Lillian Kellogg, Vice President for Education Networks of America and P21 Chair. “The P21 Math Map will provide another great opportunity for educators to implement 21st century skills in the classroom for all subjects."
As the majority of states work to design and improve curricula that align with the Common Core, the release of this new resource provides an opportunity for education leaders to implement learning models that integrate core academic content mastery (the 3Rs) with the complex critical thinking and problem solving, collaboration, communication, and creativity and innovation skills (the 4Cs) required for student success in school, life and the workplace.
