CNN Student News Returns

As young people across the country head back to school, CNN is gearing up for the return of the network’s Student News online broadcasts.

The 10-minute program, anchored by CNN’s Carl Azuz, offers a daily summary of top stories aimed at middle-school, high-school and college students. In addition to the streaming version, the program also is available for download at CNN.com and iTunes. Teachers with cable access in the classroom may want to record the program, which airs on weekdays at 4 a.m. ET on HLN.

Now entering its 23rd year, Student News will feature special programming segments focusing on a variety of events including the Republican National Convention, Democratic National Convention and the 2012 presidential election, as well as special observances such as Hispanic Heritage Month and Constitution Day.

Over the years, CNN Student Newshas focused on a variety of topics—from the economy to natural disasters and bullying, the show has covered it all in an engaging and classroom-friendly way.

The show is available cost- and commercial-free for middle and high schools.
