Brief Description

Students learn about Johannes Gutenberg and the printing press. Students sequence historical events about the life of Johannes Gutenberg and the printing press in chronological order.

Lesson Plan

Ask students to define the term time line and to give examples of information that appears in time lines. Introduce Johannes Gutenberg, and tell students that they will each create a time line about the life of Johannes Gutenberg and about how his invention, the printing press, influenced the development of newspapers.
