On Monday, May 20, 2013, a ferocious tornado cut a 17-mile path of destruction through the Oklahoma City suburb of Moore. Twenty-four fatalities were reported as of Tuesday, and Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin said there were 237 injured. Authorities cautioned that this figure, and the death toll, could still rise. Among the lives lost were seven students from Plaza Towers Elementary School. As many as 20,000 families could be displaced by the disaster.
