Energy-Saving Video Competition
Sneakyuses.com (Sneaky Uses for Everyday Things: You CAN Do More with Less) is sponsoring the first annual Energy-Saving Video Competition. Videomakers can use their creativity to help save resources and win prizes by uploading short video clips to Recycle Group at YouTube.com. Prizes include a DVD player, a portable MP3 Player with thumb drive, and a USB WiFi adapter. Winners will be announced in a YouTube video and at Sneakyuses.com on January 15th 2007.

eCybermission
In this Web-based science, math, and technology competition, grade-level teams select a problem related to one of four Mission Challenges -- Arts and Entertainment, Environment, Health and Safety, or Sports and Recreation -- and develop a solution to that problem. Every entrant receives a T-shirt and a letter of commendation. Each student on winning teams at the regional level wins U.S. Savings Bonds in amounts ranging from $2000 - $5000.

Whootie the Owl is the guide to this warm and friendly childrens story site that features folktales from around the world. Kids can not only read the delightful stories but also submit illustrations and feedback about what they think about them. Middle school students can participate in a childrens theater script-writing contest. (Grades: PreK-8)

e-teen
e-teen is put together by youth for youth as a place to meet and share ideas and inspiration. The site promotes volunteerism and the desire to make our world a better place through youth involvement in community service projects. To spice it up, e-teen offers contests, music, games, and more! Mars Millenium Project
The Mars Millenium Project, an official White House Millenium Council Youth Initiative, challenges students across the United States to design an ideal community for the planet Mars that incorporates the best aspects of their own local communities. The project begins in the fall of 1999, but materials to prepare for it should be available this month.

Great American Think-OffTM
The Great American Think-OffTM is an annual essay contest and philosophy debate. The contest is open to all U.S. residents. (Grades: 8-12+)

Earth And Sky
This is the Web site of the daily science radio program. The site includes archives of past topics, contests, and information specifically created for educators. (Grades: 3-12)

The Refrigerator
A weekly art contest for children, up to age 18, which displays their work on the site and lets users choose the winner for the week. (Grades: K-12)

Learn Vocabulary
This Web site was set up to make learning vocabulary a fun endeavor instead of a chore. The site has puzzles, games and contests to motivate users. (Grades: 6-12+)

The Math League
The Math League is dedicated to bringing challenging mathematics materials to students. The Math League specializes in math contests, books, and computer software designed to stimulate interestand confidence in mathematics for students from the 4th grade through high school. Over 1 million students participate in Math League contests each year.
