Overview: Students work in small groups to research information about dinosaurs and about the time when those huge animals roamed Earth. Students use the information to create a classroom dinosaur zoo. Each group explores one kind of dinosaur and one time period, creates a model dinosaur and colors a picture depicting the era when the dinosaur lived. Groups present their models, pictures and information to the teacher for placement in the zoo.
Notes:
This WebQuest was developed for students in grade 2. Many of the resources and activities may be adapted for children in kindergarten through grade 5. The Conclusion section (click on the dinosaur picture at the bottom of the page) contains a host of links to additional activities.
