Site Review: State High School Associations

Share

Site URL:  NFHS.org

Content:  The homepage of the National Federation of State High School Associations offers content on everything from policy changes to current events in the world of high school athletics, marching bands, debate teams, theater departments, coaches and officials.

NFHSDesign: “Utilitarian” best describes NFHS.org, but unlike many other uninspired site designs, this one at least maintains a decent color scheme. On the site, what you see is what you get; every link leads to the indicated piece of content.

Despite a decided lack of images and creativity, users can easily get to the stories they want.

Review: NFHS.org gets high marks for useful information. Since 1920, The National Federation of State High School Associations has led the development of education-based interscholastic sports and activities that help students succeed in their lives. The group sets a direction for the future by building awareness and support, improving the participation experience, establishing consistent standards and rules for competition, and helping those who oversee high school sports and activities.

All of this information is contained at NFHS.org, along with timely news stories and meeting and convention information.

Bottom Line: Given the large number of students who participate in extracurricular activities and the diverse array of those activities governed by the NFHS, this site is a must-see for teachers, coaches, band directors and other key educator-leaders.
