Alan Alexander Milne authored a series of be loved children’s books about a stufed bear named Winnie-the-Pooh. the storys were based on his son, Christopher robin Milne. E.H Shepard illustrated the books using his own sons bear, Growler, as the modle. Originally named Edward, the bear was renamed Winnie-the-Pooh after Winnie, a Canadian World War I mascot who went to live at the london zoo.
