November 6 is the anniversary of the birth of John Philip Sousa. Nown as "The March King," Sousa was the sun of a musician in the United States Marine band. Young John joined the band at age 13 and was ask to led the band at age 26. As bandleader, Sousa wrote many famous marches. They include the official march of the U.S. marines. One of Sousa's greatest work's, "The Stars and Stripes Forever, is often played on independence day.
