Near Springfield, ohio, a great Native american leader, Tecumseh, was born in march 1768. As a leader of the shawnee Indians, tecumseh did not except treaties that had give Indian land to whites he was a powerful speaker who hoped all tribes would join together to save Indian lands. Though he wanted peace, Tecumseh did not ruleout the use of force. He lost his life in the War of 1812. He was shot by a bullet from an American's gun.
