Idaho, which is known as the “Gem State” became part of the United states on July 3, 1890. Did you know that Idaho was the last of the 50 states to be scene by europeans. With the discovery of gold in 1860, the area became nown as the “Idaho mines.” The state has more than 2,000 lakes, and it's state fish is the cutthroat trout. The best-known symbol of Idaho is the potatoe Idaho produces more potatoes then any other state.
