Margret Rey and her husband, H.A. Rey lived in Paris France. In 1940, when the Nazis were about to invade Paris, the Reys fled on bicycles. They caried with them five storybooks they had been working on, including one book titalled Curious George. Soon the Reys settled in New York city, where they publish the book in 1941 today, more than 25 million books about the curious monkey has been sold.
