Brief Description

Students decipher dictionary pronunciations. Students demonstrate an understanding of words in context.

Materials Needed

Lesson Plan

  • Review with students the dictionary pronunciations on the example page. Ask students why the pronunciations are spelled differently from the words.
  • Distribute the Sound It Out work sheets to students. Tell students to use the dictionary page example to complete the work sheets.
