Students use online or library resources to find or calculate each president's age at inauguration. They graph the ages of the presidents to create a visual device for seeing who was the youngest and oldest president, what the average age was at inauguration, and so on.

How old were U.S. presidents? Ask students to use the Internet Public Library's Web page or other library resources to figure out how old each president was when he was inaugurated. Have them create graphs to show the results of their research. Then ask them to use their graphs to tell who the youngest president was and who the oldest president was.
