Brief Description
Students complete word search, word scramble, and maze puzzles with an ocean theme.

Students demonstrate visual perception skills in solving word search, word scramble, and maze puzzles.

Materials Needed

computers with Internet access or printouts of puzzles and pencils

Lesson Plan

Print out copies of the following puzzles. If Internet access is available to everyone, let students complete the puzzle(s) online. Let students choose one or more puzzles to complete:
Clean Ocean Action Word Search -- New Jersey's Ocean,
Printables: Under the Sea,
Ocean Word Search,
Scrambled Whale,
Printables: Oceans of Fun.

Variation: Make the activity more challenging by giving the students a time limit to complete one or more puzzles.

Assessment

Evaluate how well students complete the puzzles.
