
Help students understand that success in school is due more to perseverance than native intelligence. Research shows that kids who think intelligence is the luck of the draw -- and they were unlucky -- are much less motivated to try that are kids who believe that they can succeed. Make "Success is 1 percent inspiration and 99 percent perspiration" your classroom motto.
