Planning for a New School Year
Get ready for the first day of school with templates, videotapes, and postcards.

What's In a Name?
Save time with templates.
Save back-to-school preparation time by using Education World's Back-to-School Templates to create student nametags.
Starring...
Make a movie to remember.
Provide parents with a list of supplies to send with their children on the first day of school. Include on the list a blank videotape. Once a month -- or more often, if possible -- invite parent volunteers to come in and videotape each student participating in a classroom activity. The videotapes make excellent end-of-the-year mementos.
Wish You Were Here
Introduce students to their new teacher.
A week or two before the first day of school, send a postcard to each student in your class. Introduce yourself, explain what they'll be studying during the coming year, and mention some of the activities you've planned. Provide a silly assignment for students to complete before school begins.
