Try These Fun Bulletin Board Ideas

It is important to start the school year with a bang, ensuring that students are entertained and motivated on day one. It can be tough finding the perfect bulletin board to set a positive classroom tone, but we found lots of great ideas on Pinterest, Buzzfeed and teacher blogs. Here are our favorite sources:

  1. Pinterest: Find hundreds upon hundreds of back-to-school designs. From traditional and simple to creative and interactive, pins from educators share successful bulletin boards ideas. Try visually stimulating Dr. Seuss quotes, or incorporate popular tech gadgets into a welcoming message. 
  2. The Classroom Creative: Two teachers, dedicated to helping their colleagues succeed, offer back-to-school bulletin board ideas. The list of 40-plus ideas includes social media-inspired boards as well as more general ideas--everything from "Readbox" to a three-dimensional backpack with school supplies pouring out.
  3. The Happy Scraps: Crafter Amy maintains this site, sharing terrific ideas with people all over the country. Check out her post "12 Months of Bulletin Board Ideas" to keep you busy all year. The boards are simple, but will serve as a starting point for you to add your own creative twist.
