Book Report Makeover: Zodiac SignsEach week, Education World offers a new idea to help you "make over" boring book report formats. If you're looking for a way to spice up book reports -- and truly engage students in reading -- you've come to the right place. Check out this week's makeover idea
Students match book characters with astrological signs.
Provide students with a simple explanation of some of the personality characteristics of the Zodiac/Horoscope Signs or the 12 animal birth signs of the Chinese Zodiac. Then have each student select a character from a book he or she has read. As they explore the character traits of the birth signs, students should try to identify which sign a selected character was born under. Their book reports should explain why they came to that conclusion.
