Book Report Makeover: Power of PersuasionEach week, Education World offers a new idea to help you "make over" boring book report formats. If you're looking for a way to spice up book reports -- and truly engage students in reading -- you've come to the right place. Check out this week's makeover idea
Invite students to be book publicists.
Have each student write and deliver a 60-second speech intended to persuade others to read a book he or she has read recently. Writing and speaking persuasively will be especially difficult if the student giving the sales pitch didn't like the book. In that case, the student can share the fact after completing the speech!
