Mr. Ivan, The Principal Poet
Hall Lockers
My locker's stuck! I can't get in!
My books are locked in tight,
So I've been kicking and banging
On the door to make things right.
If I just had me a hammer,
Or a chain saw, or a drill,
I'd break in to free my stuff.
Now, that'd be a thrill!
I'm not the only one with locker issues
Other kids have their frustrations.
Broken doors, coats stuck inside,
And forgotten combinations.
Some people say kids' lockers
Are like big trash compactors.
To take home all the junk inside
I'd need five trailer tractors.
I think I've an answer to our locker mess
And it isn't very tough:
Our school should get us bigger lockers
Or find kids with smaller stuff.
